Corrieri's, Stirling

Not sure why but I forgot to Publish this when I wrote it on 8 September 2014 and I just noticed that it was still in Draft form after I published Café D'Jaconelli.

Sunday was a special day but we decided to avoid the families and crowds and celebrate on Monday.

We decided to combine two things we have been hoping to do for a while.  Firstly to visit the Kelpies and secondly to visit Corrieri's in Stirling.

We tried to visit Corrieri's earlier in the year but were scuppered because they were fully booked because of graduations going on at the Uni.

So after an awe-inspiring visit to the Kelpies, we headed off to Stirling safe in the knowledge that we had booked a table this time.

Corrieri's has an extensive menu of pizza and pasta as well as Italian Chip Shop choices.  They also have a breakfast menu available in the mornng.

We both decided on pizza, mine a classic olive and anchovy combination, Napolitana while Martin chose a spinach, gorgonzola and walnut feast, .  Mine was delicious and Martin declared his a success but I was a bit reluctant to try it.

And onto the main event ... the main reason why we were there ... the ice cream.

I chose Coppa Mista (selection of ice creams) while Martin went for classic vanilla.

All the ice cream is made on the premises. My chocolate, strawberry and vanilla combi was delicious: the chocolate had a rich flavour, whilst the strawberry tasted of real strawberries and the colour was very natural.  The vanilla was excellent, very creamy and smooth.

Corrieri's was very busy considering it was a Monday evening and it is clear it is really popular with the locals.  Our previous experience demonstrates it is popular with students as well.

We will certainly return especially as it turns out we can get to Stirling very quickly from home.
